Crisis is Out!

It took a year and a day: literally, the debut of the printed version of Crisis was one year ago at KantCon 2019. Now, it's been tested, reviewed, taken apart, updated, and debated in the Nerdhaus Discord and after every playtest session.  A special thanks to Andria Osborne for her tireless efforts to discuss this game and weigh the various elements I was trying to add, and to the team over at RPGHour for playing the game and taking the time to send their thoughts afterward.

The biggest improvement to the game is the stunning new artwork from Aaron Radney. His work has been featured in numerous other projects, and I'm so thrilled to have been able to work with him. His sketches not only bring the scenarios to life, they underscore the inherent nature of Crisis as a temporary thing, a story started in the scenario module but completed by your players at the table. It's an elegant metaphor for the experience and the art is just so damn pretty.

This release also moved BITE into its own download, owing to the addition of the role cards and the pivot away from the base mechanic. Future scenarios will likely be available for free on the Nerdhaus website or here at the itch.io store, but this one is different enough that I wanted folks to look at it before they jumped in. There's also the option to buy a copy of the physical BITE game to go along with the new RPG, but we'll see how many folks really need the additional props for their game.

So thank you to everyone who played, gave feedback, bought playtest booklets, and lent a hand to make Crisis what it is today. I would not have kept at it without all your support.
